Settlement
At Center for Newcomer Empowerment, the settlement programs are designed to assist newcomers, immigrants and refugees in the process of making Canada their home. To achieve this goal, we are using client centric approach and our programs are also designed to address the unique needs of our clients.
SETTLEMENTS SERVICES INCLUDE:
- One-on-one assessment of settlement needs and the development of a detailed, personalized settlement plan.
- A holistic and collaborative case management approach is used to identify the newcomer and family’s wellbeing and settlement needs.
- We offer Information and orientation sessions to help clients develop an understanding of life in Canada.
- We offer group sessions focused on community connections, civic engagement, and other volunteer opportunities.
- We offer activities regarding accessible services in the areas of health, education, childcare, housing, employment, finance, immigration, language learning and legal supports.
- We offer support with completing government forms and applications.
- We provide help and assistance in preparing for the Canadian Citizenship test.
- We provide informal language learning support through Conversation Circle activities.
- We provide information on other local resources
- Referrals to Legal Aid & other legal information
- English language Classes (for Newcomers to Canada)
- Youth Support Programs
- Skill Development Programs
