About Us
Center for Newcomer Empowerment was by a group of Afghan refugees in 2021, and incorporated in 2023 as a non-profit organization, to create a welcoming community for newcomers and refugees and provide them with settlement, integration and adaptation services. For the past 3 years, we have been helping newcomers from all around the world to become part of the community.
Our Story
For over 3 years, volunteers at Center for Newcomer Empowerment have worked hard to facilitate access to the programs and services that are vital to build healthy communities. The caring and knowledgeable volunteers at CFNE are committed to provide holistic programs and deliver resettlement services, mental health support services and early learning programs for newcomers and refugees.
With the help of our community partners, volunteers, we provide employment and settlement services, skills development, and English classes, completely free of charge. We also plan to execute programs for children, including childcare for kids. We are committed to provide welcoming environment for newcomers.

OUR MANDATE
Center for Newcomer Empowerment focuses on the immediate needs of newcomers through introducing them to settlement resources, providing them with pathways towards employment opportunities, skill development trainings and English language classes.

OUR UNIQUE APPROACH
Despite the settlement services and language classes, our below services and holistic approaches make us unique:
- Cultural Integration
In addition to the settlement services, we provide our beneficiaries with orientation session on Canadian cultural and identity, and further explore how to redefine themselves in this new context.
- Social Integration
We provide our beneficiaries with support to establish their social and personal networks.
- Economic Integration
We help our beneficiaries to acquire necessary skills and provide them with employment related services to enter the job market and achieve a stable financial independence.
